Walleye season starts MAY 1st out of Linwood Beach Marina in Linwood Michigan for Saginaw Bay's early walleye fishery.  May is PRIME TIME to catch  Trophy Walleye that are returning back into the bay from their spring spawning runs.  Walleye topping 10 lbs are common at this time of year.  It's also not unusual to catch brown trout, lake trout, salmon and steelhead during this early fishery, as the water is still very cold in the bay.  Dress accordingly for this early fishing.

June provides PHENOMENAL walleye action. The weather is warm and the walleye fishing is HOT! HOT! HOT! Limits are the rule rather than the exception. May and June often provide non-stop action. This is a great time and great place to get kids interested in fishing, as they have little time to get bored!  This is a busy time for us so try to book your trip as far ahead as possible.  Both May and June are peak Walleye fishing time and dates go extremely fast.  We do run two trips a day 7 days a week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday's book usually a year in advance.  So please book early as this is the BEST WALLEYE FISHING IN THE WORLD, RIGHT NOW.

WHY FISH THE BAY?

Saginaw Bay has seen five straight unbelievable year classes of naturally reproduced walleyes.  Those astronomical numbers added to an already strong adult walleye population from past years, create unbelievable numbers of walleye along with quality walleye.  The amount of walleye swimming in Saginaw Bay will make your head spin.  There are so many walleye limit catches are the rule, not the exception.  Fishing is just plain fun, on most trips you can expect non-stop action.  A recent report from a Michigan fisheries biologist said that the outlook for the Saginaw Bay fishery, is very good and looks to only get better over the next couple of years.  The word is definitely out on this fishery. We run two trips a day, morning and evening the demand for this fishery has never been higher and we routinely book a year in advance for this fishery, so book early as we only fish the bay during May and June.
